Project Overview

Many children and young people in and out-of-school, routinely face abuse, exploitation and addiction in their homes, schools and communities, with much of the abuse and addiction being normalized and socially condoned. Disturbingly, these risks often arise from individuals entrusted with their protection and well-being, including parents, teachers, guardians, friends, caregivers, law enforcement officers, and other community leaders (National VAC Survey Report, 2018).

Every child deserves access to education. It's not just a necessity; it's a fundamental human right.

The Problem

These risks have far-reaching consequences, including mental distress, school dropout, increased rates of sexually transmitted infections, persistent poverty, limited life choices, social inequalities, low economic growth, and, in extreme cases, suicidal ideation.

Our Solution

Initiative for Life Concern focuses at promoting the school environment that enables children and young people to enrol in school, stay in school and complete their education cycle. The organization also focuses at building the life skills of young people and children to be protect themselves from abuse and recover from addiction while empowering them to build their resilience against abuse and addiction. The organization empowers parents and care givers with good parenting skills and income to be able to bring up their children well and also work with religious and cultural institutions in promoting positive norms, beliefs and practices that prevent abuse and addiction.
